“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.” – Masaru Emoto Just like this quote I believe that even though we may be challenged by difficult or intense emotions, traumas that haunt us even today or by worries that keep us stuck; our true potential is still there, waiting to be unearthed. That said the journey to wellness can seem daunting. I understand this and so my approach to helping is one where we walk that journey together, with me by your side. My treatment lens is one of mindfulness and learning to live life in the present moment.
I treat a variety of challenges that include depression, anxiety and borderline personality disorder but my niche is working with client's who struggle with trauma, addiction and poor self compassion. I utilize an eclectic approach of treatment modalities that include EMDR, DBT and Motivational Interviewing. Together, like the lotus flower, you will "rise up out of the muddy pond and bloom" by building on your strengths. You will gain the coping skills needed to manage your emotions appropriately without substances, emotional eating, lashing out or avoidance. Your traumatic memories will be desensitized and reprocessed and moved into the past where they belong. I look forward to taking that step on your journey to wellness with you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in individual, group and family therapy. I have been working as a therapist for over 5 years, 3 of which as a senior primary therapist with Princeton House Behavioral Health. I have worked with a diverse group of individuals ranging from adolescents to older adults, and I have a background in working with trauma/PTSD, compassion focused therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.
I believe we all have choices in our lives, even at times when we feel like we do not. All we have is this present moment and we are doing the best we can with what life has to offer us. Sometimes we need help in managing the stressors and unplanned challenges that can be thrown our way. I believe in slowing down and mindfully being in the here and now, building upon strengths, building skills and working together towards a better you. In slowing down we can manage stressors and challenges more effectively and become more engaged to build a happy and healthy life. I take a compassionate and non-judgmental approach with all my clients and believe in the collaborative process of psychotherapy. I am looking foward to working with you on your journey.
